Leaking water? or refrigerant?

if water i would suggest a good sealer/adhesive to seal any cracks in the drip tray, and ensure all pipework insulation is intact and replace as required...the cold pipes can condensate and sweat giving water problems...

if refrigerant, you will need to have:

im presuming all the gas has leaed out hence no reclaim equipment

Blow torch/Oxy Acetalyne rig
Nitrogen Oxygen free
Vaccum Pump
Refrigeration gauges
Refrigerant suited to unit
Braze
Leak detection spray
torr gauge
scales

You must be adequately competent to carry out such a repair!!!

1, Pressure test and find leak using leak spray
2.vent system of Nitrogen
3. braze broken pipework
4. repeat 1 and 2
5. if no leaks found vaccum system out with vac pump to suitable torr
6.charge to required weight

like i say only a professional should carry out system repairs.

all the best

HOw to fix portable air conditioner? It is leaking

Unless it is leaking the refrigerant then what is dripping is the condensation air conditioners produce. This being a portable, it should have a drip pan that can be removed and drained. Window units just drip out the back and large units have a hose routed to drip away from the unit or into a drain.

We purchased a Whirlpool portable air conditioner in 2005 from Best Buy. Near the end of last summer the air conditioner started leaking water. We started using it again this season and it is still...

Check to see if the drain is blocked by particles/debris of any type. Also make sure that the unit is level--as level as possible. I have my Whirlpool Portable AC in 4 inch bed risers so I can drain it really easily. I slip under a small low rise pan and drain it every two days or so when it is running. Mine leaked when I tried to incline it backwards to make it drain faster. As soon as I leveled the unit the leak stopped and water again came out the hose. These units must be kept level to prevent leaks so now I always do that.

Water leaking from portable air conditioner

Sounds like the drain line is blocked you would have to take this unit apart in order to check this. I would use a can of air to blow out the leakage. Also make sure the unit is level

Water leaking from portable air conditioner

First, make sure the unit is level. If so, you have a blockage or kink in the drain tube. Careful inspection should reveal any blockage, & you may be able to poke it thru with a piece of coathanger wire. Don't use excessive force, any block should be easily freed.
