Mcdevito75 here, The stem (crown) on your timex shou;d have 2 positions, this allows you to set the date without haveing to turn the hands around so many times. Place a fingernail just under the crown (winder knob) and lift to it"s first position, it may take some practice so if you don"t get it the first time keep trying, Once you lift the crown to it:"s first position you shoulsd be able to set the date, set the date a day before the date you need, Now, push the stem back in all the way, now pull out the stem and set the date and time you want, you"ll have to go around the 24 hours once to set the correct date and time. Hope this helps. If you can"t do this adjustment, see a small watch repair shop in your area.

I have a two year old timex indigo which the green light feature no longer works. The stem no longer presses down. Any suggestions will be appretiated.

Hello Pat Trevino,

My best suggestion is to send (or take) your watch
to your NEAREST TIMEX authorized service center.
(see Returns below: Contacts: address & phones)

The FIRST watch I ever bought for myself is the TIMEX Automatic... Still keeps good time after 51+ years
(certainly better than I do)...

Since then I have gathered a few more watches,
chronometers & chronographs.

Takes a licking & keeps on ticking (John Cameron Swayze)

Setting timex analog mens watch with small window in face of watch indicating day of week, I think

Lots of older watches needed to have the hands advanced 24 hours to advance the date one day. Fortunately most modern watches require the hands to be wound backwards to advance the date, often at the rate of a day per hour. A combination of the backward and forward winding of the hands made adjusting the day and date much simpler and quicker.

A few premium watches had a third position when pulling out the winder, a position dedicated to adjusting the day/date

Hi. How do i set date on a mans black leather band, large face indiglo watch. I tried to move the hands clockwise for a long time and that didnt do it. Model T2H281

Hi Barbara, I have an easy fix for you. Pull the winding knob half way out and then you can twist it to set the desired date. Here is a website for you with instructions if you need. Just copy and paste the following into your Windows search engine box .....http://besttimexeasyreaderwatch.blogspot.com/2012/01/timex-men-t2h281-easy-reader-black.html

How to set day of week and date on men's Timex Indiglo easy reader analog wristwatch

The watch should have only one stem on the side, if this is so, you pull the stem all the way out two clicks to set time, but you pull it out only one click to set day and date, at one click you turn one way for date and other way for date, to use indiglo you push stem in. If your watch has more than one stem please notify me. I hope this helps!

Date and time on my new watch do not change

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like part of the mechanism has broken in your Timex watch, and, if so too repair it may cost twice a new Timex watch, chances are this is why watch shops have told you to return the watch to Timex, and without a warrantee, even timex will charge for the repair. Ask the watch repair shop straight out if it pays to repair your watch, chances are no. Also you can try to contact Timex online at Timex watch.com or by phone.
