I have misplaced the instructions for my broan bathroom ceiling fan and I need to replace the main bulb not the night light bulb. I seem to remember that the plastic covering is on a hinge and swings down but I do not want to take a chance of applying too much pressure on that plastic window in the event I am wrong and perhaps breaking it.

SOURCE: have a broan n688 ceiling exhaust fan in bathroom

First turn the power to the fan OFF. Take it down from the ceiling by removing the screws holding the cover on. Then remove the screws holding it to the ceiling. Then unscrew the screw caps that twist (connect) the wires from fan motor to the house wiring. Do a general clean up on the fan. Use an old paint brush to get in the hard to get at places. Rotate the fan by hand. If it does not rotate freely, put some oil on the shaft where it goes into the motor, and put some on where the shaft comes out the back. If it still does not rotate freely, buy a replacement and install it.

SOURCE: how do you access the light on a broan

Gently pull down, work it down slowly these tend to get dry over time and crack, If you do not see any exposed screws it is the basic pull down type. Not to insult your knowledge but make sure the fan is not on when you do this because the blades will be exposed.

Testimonial: "Didn't exactly correct, but I looked further and found 2 screws. "

SOURCE: Replace motor in Broan 678 bathroom fan

I ran into the same problem, Lowe's carries Broan exhaust vents. They had both a replacement motor for all generations of 678 fans for $18, and they also had the latest generation of the complete unit for $40. I bought the complete unit, which included the fan I needed. Just unbolted it from the new bracket and bolted it to the old one. The new light housing, trim piece, and lens also interchanged. The existing one was old and yellowed, so this made for a huge improvement. All done from in the living space as well.

How do I remove the cover to replace the light bulbs on a Round Nautilus brand bathroom exhaust fan from the 1980's.

Most exhaust fan covers use a spring steel wire in a V shaped configuration. The bottom of the V is attached to the cover. There is a slot in the fan housing and by pinching the tops of the V togetherand insert them in the slots the spring pressure pulls the cover up tight to the ceiling.Carefully pulling the cover down enough to reach over the cover and pinch thewires together should allow the cover to be removed. Hope this helps.

I need help hooking up my bathroom fan and light i have three wires going to the bathroom fan and light white black and ground i want a swith to turn off the bathroom light one to run the light to the fan...

Right now a single switch turns on both light and fan.
You want to put in a double switch to control light and fan separately.

But the problem is there is not a separate wire to each the light and fan.
You need a separate wire to each, but the circuit wasn't wired that way.
Usually when the circuit is wired for separate control, there is a red wire that also goes to ceiling box.

Unless you run another wire to the ceiling box, it won't be possible to control light and fan separately.

Electrician can do this pretty easily if there is attic space above bathroom.

We have a Broan/Nutone 763RLN Ceiling Fan/Light in need of cleani

The grille is held in place by the reflector. The reflector is hidden by the the lens. The first step is to remove the lens, then you will remove the light bulb. You will see one wing nut above the light socket. If you unscrew that the reflector and the grille should come down. The replacement motor assembly for the 763 RLN is the S0503B000, if you are looking for a little more power you could also purchase the S0504B000

Broan square bathroom fan light combo, no screws - how do I change the bulb?

The entire vent panel and light lens is held up against the ceiling by two spring clips mounted on 2 sides of the panel.

To find which two sides they are one, (they're opposite of each other), just pull on one side with your finger tips and when you see the wire spring clips, just pull down on the two sides where they are so you can get to the bulb socket.

The panel will pull down about 5-6 inches you can then either get at the light bulb, or lift up the light lens to clean it and get the bulb out.

Be sure to replace the bulb with the proper wattage bulb so you don't overheat and melt the lens in the unit.

When you're done, all you do is push up gently on each side to get the panel back in place. You might have to squeeze the wire retaining clips to get them back in, but they'll go back OK.

If you want to completely remove the cover panel, you just squeeze the retaining wire clips nearest the fan enclosure on each side and that will let you take it all the way off for cleaning, etc.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

I have a thermador bathroom ceiling heater fan. Where can I get a replacement?

Amazon.com: bathroom ceiling heater Broan Product Detail

If you have the old Thermador ceiling type of heater that must be mounted on the ceiling surface there aren't many choices. Only the Broan-Nutone 154 & 157 models. The 154 @ $37 didn't seem to last too long but it's 1/3 the price of the radiant 157 model at about $100+ dollars. The radiant model may last longer
