Motorola MD400 Had phone for years, no problems. Today, I can't dial out and it does ring for incomming calls. Screen says "searching" or "out of range". Tried to regiser by holding the page button. Screen says "registration failed"...any advice??? THANKS!

Take battery out of handset for one minute.
Unplug base unit (power and phone line) for one minute.
Plug base unit back in (power and phone line).
Put battery back in handset. Place hangset on base for
one minute. This got my phone up and running.
I had no battery power in the base unit, but if I did, I think
you have to remove those as well.
