Hi, This is the second time I have had this problem with this TV. All of a suddon the screen goes black. No sound, no menu. It turns on. You can see the on-off light working. Last time a circuit board went out but how do I find out which one and how to order it

Check the game cubes video setup. You may have to enable the S-Video port on the setup menu. Also check the TV setup to select s-video for the input video source for that input.
This is inverter or backlighting problem. Can you try switching it on and off quickly for a couple of times and tell me if these '2 seconds' get any longer'. If picture stays longer and longer before shutting down, one lamp needs replaced-if not, please replace inverter board
TV has gone into "protect mode" to do just that to protect against the damaging failure that has been detected, you will need a servicer to diagnose the failure. Good luck and Merry Christmas!
Not really that tough. Sounds as though the backlight is shutting down, either from a power supply failure, or a failure of the backlight circuit itself. You can verify this by holding a flashlight to the screen in the area where the menu usually appears to see if it displayed on the LCD panel with no backlight. If you can faintly see the menu displayed, your backlight has shut down and the most likely cause is the backlight inverter board, followed by the power supply and the backlights themselves which are part of the LCD panel.
