I had my computer looked at recently and lost the ability to put my pentax pictures onto my computer. I cannot find the cd required to transfer picture to laptop.
can you advise, thank you
Have you considered NOT connecting the camera to the computer?
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.Have you considered NOT connecting the camera to the computer?

Pat, I think you better check if the software that supposed to be on your computer is still running correct.
Before you can upload pictures from your camera to the computer, you should install a driver and software. This came with the camera, on a CD. If you lost the CD, most of the time you still can get the software and the correct driver(s) from the Pentax site.
If you are not sure the software is still running, just reinstall it.
It could be you are using a picture viewer or picture handle program, like Adobe lightroom or photoshop element. Same for that, try to reinstall.
do you have the ability to attempt transfering the pictures onto another computer
maybe its just that computer
what type of card reader are you using
is it factory installed or aftermarket
try installing a different card and see it you can transfer pictures from your camera to the computer then
maybe its a file type(format)problem
theres what i have good luck
let me know how it goes
Go to the home page of your camera. Look up what you need, download it and install if necessary.
It appears you want to download pictures to the camera. Another way to download your pictures is with a card reader at most electronics stores, including Radio Shack, Best Buy, Office Max, and so on.
Hi i lost my CD in my recent move but i would still like to use my wireless keyboard and mouse... is there any sort of software i can download from the internet that would install these onto my computer
I have lost my cd for my optio s5i pentax camera and have a new laptop how can I get another cd or download software so I can transfer photos onto my laptop
I had the same problem, and I found after much playing and mostly accidental findings that I could do this by following these steps
1. Put an SD card in the camera. Will not work otherwise
2. Go into playback mode, where you view the pictures, button looks like an blue arrow pointing to the right
3. Press the round 4 way controller downwards, and a menu (that I have never seen before!) appears
4. Choose the 4th icon along on the top line and that will give you options to transfer from memory card to camera and the other way around.
