Turn your PS3 completely off by pressing the power button and then turning off the power switch in the back. Your PS3 should show no lights. Wait about an hour to let the system completely cool down, then turn the power switch on the back on again. Now press the power button and hold it until the system beeps. This will reset a few settings and make sure the system is OK. Hook your PS3 up using the RCA Red White and Yellow cable and turn it on again, and you should be able to be back up and running.
ok first of all this solution will destroy any saved data on your system! (saved game, music, pictures, videos,)
Try this, hold down the on/off button at the front and wait untill it switches off again (after a couple of bleeps) then repeat but this time when you hear the double bleep let go and plug you ps3 pad in via usb cable and choose option "rebuild file system", if that doesnt work you might have to try formatting it
switch off .. unplug .. remove HDD .. wait a few minutes .. replace HDD .. change power cable .. try again .. if this doesn't fix it then u gotta contact Sony 08705 99 88 77 .. hope it's still under warranty or it may cost ya ..
same thing happened to me yesterday .. going to try the above fix
Have you ever heard of "Three Rings of Death"? Well, the yellow light basically means that your PS3 has overheated or suffers from a hardware malfunction. The only thing you could try doing is removing your HDD and then putting it back in and sometimes that will work.
If it doesn't then I'm sorry my friend, you'll have to send it back to Sony. The yellow light is usually a sign of death for the PS3.
