it sounds like your chems are off, check you chlorine and PH, I go for a 3.0 to 5.0 on the chlorine side and 7.2 to 7.5 on ph,

You should take your vacuum hose and plug it into the hole in the bottom of one of the skimmers. Fill the hose with water first or your pump will loose suction. I fill my hose by putting the head of the vacuum in the pool. Take the other end and hold it over a pool's discharge port (where the water comes back to the pool from the pump. When the air bubbles stop, put your hand over the end of the hose and move it to the skimmer and connect it.

I have seen a common problem when customers change / clean their filter is that put the DRY clean filter in the skimmer box or filter holder and sometimes it can cause an "air lock"
Just take your garden hose put in the intake outlet of your pool and turn that baby on....If you start seeing air bubbles on the discharge end of the line most likely that was your trouble.
If the problem still persist then at that time look into pump repair / replacement.

I FOUND ON MY INTEX POOL WHEN HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE IT HAD BLOCKAGE BETWEEN THE 1 1/4 HOSE ADAPTER ON THE INLET SIDE OF THE CONNECTION SUPPLYING THE PUMP AND THE BLUE FILTER SCREEN BEFORE THE OUTLET VALVE. MIGHT BE WORTH CHECKING THERE AS THE STRAINER BASKET WILL NOT CATCH ALL THE FINE DEBRIS. TAKE YOUR OUTLET HOSE OFF AND OPEN THE VALVE AND SEE IF IT IS RETRICTED.

This is tough cause I can't see the valve setup. I have to assume they are manual valves. Normal operation probably takes some water out of the pool and spa than puts it back into both. To heat the spa, set the intake valves(the ones in front of pump) to take water from only the spa. Set the jets(valve(s) on output side of filter) to send water back to only the spa. The pool will be out of the loop. Normal operation usually has water taken out of pool and spa than put back into both. Make sure to put more water back into spa than you take out, (Adjust valve)

if you cartridge is completly clean then start by disconecting the out tube that goes to the pump housing
sometimes debris gets caught there entering your pump.
a little hair causes other things to back up

once you are satisfird that those 2 things are ready then close it all up and open the bleeder cap on top of the cartridge holder

Now let water in from the suction side
when water starts coming out of the bleeder cap then open the return side
Now turn on the puimp
let it run for 20 seconds and then close your bleeder

Should be working fine after that.

dont forget to leave the bleeder cap alone on the bottom of the canister unless you are draining the water from the canister to clean it. As soon as you are done close it back up

ok -
1. go to k-mart or pool shop and get yourself some pool socks.
Pool socks fit over your skimmer filter and will filter out smaller bits before going into your filter system - very good to use when 'vac'ing your pool when there are lots of particals in your pool.

2. If you have a sand filter system - you will have a control handle some where on your pipe work near your filter, which will have around some settings you can select with handle... like....> Normal, backwask, rinse, recirculat + others PLUS a pressure guage.

If you do have this sytem - 'vac' your pool on Normal - then when finished OR pressure builds - back wash - rinse - then back to normal.

YOU CAN THEY ARE REMOVABLE IF YOU CAN ACCESS YOU MAY BE ABLE TO MOVE BY PULLING UP ON CENTER PLUNGER WHERE HANDLE ATTATCHES AND PUTTING IN TO FILTER POSITION

IF WATER IS NOT TURNING IN PUMP BASKET IT IS YOUR IMPELLER AS THIS IS A COMMON PIECE THAT BREAKS ON THESE PUMPS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL CONNECTIONS TIGHT AND ALL VALVES ARE OPEN TRY TAKING RETURN HOSE OFF THE POOL AND START TO SEE IF YOU GET FLOW YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT A PLUG IN RETURN SO WATER DOESNT LEAK OUT
