SAT button not working on remote--volume controls work to the TV--screen is displaying Press Select to Contine--when pressed red SAT light does light up but nothing happens

It sounds as though you might have just accidentally pressed a button and changed the remote into an incorrect mode for example, tv, or aux modes. This would in fact prevent the remote from successfully working with the DISH Network receiver. If this is in fact the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, once its back in SAT mode you will then be able to change channels, select menu, power receiver on and off, etc. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote to put the remote back in satellite mode, please just press that SAT once and then release, the SAT button should briefly light up red & then the light will go out, you should then be able to use the remote again, to ensure remote was successfully changed back to SAT mode, you can press select or any other button you chose & as long as the SAT button lights up when you press another remote control button- then your all set to go & everything should be working once again! You have a dual receiver and 2 remotes. make sure that receiver is in dual mode. That you press the sat key on remote 2 if it will still not operate take remote 2 to the receiver. With remote #1 press the menu button twice you should then be on they system info screen. Pick up remote #2 press and hold sat key until it blinks press record 3 times . press red power button and if tv2 light goes off and on the remote should work again for tv2 . Use remote #1 press select exit screen,

Hi. You may want to check the remote address settings.

1. Press SYSTEM INFO on the receiver's front panel. The System Information screen displays on the nearby TV and shows the Remote Address.
2. Using the Dish Network remote, press and hold SAT on your remote control for about three seconds, until all of the mode buttons light up, and then release SAT.
3. Using the NUMBER PAD, press the 1 button.
4. Press POUND (#). If you entered the address correctly, SAT will flash three times.
5. Press RECORD. Make sure the Remote Address you see on the System Information screen is 1.
6. Press the SELECT button on the front panel to close the System Information screen.

0246 is the code 1st cover the top of the remote with your hand press TV you can now move your hand, now press and hold select and the red button togeather the remote light will flash twice enter the code 0246 then press select cover top again and press SKY button it should now control your tv

The receiver more than likely received a software update or reset itself and reset the codes to the receiver and tv. We will need to set the remote address again and run a power scan to control the tv. Using the front panel buttons on the receiver press the menu button twice. This will put you at the system info screen. You will see the remote addresses for tv 1 and 2. They will probably both be set to 1 if the receiver reset. Press and hold the SAT button on the TV1 remote until all lights across the top light up and release. Now key in a two digit number between 1 and 16 (for 1-9 precede that numeric with a zero) now press the pound key at the bottom right of the remote numeric keypad. The SAT button will flash three times and press the record button until the remote address on the screen displays the one you entered. The receiver should now be able to be controlled by the remote. Now we need to do a power scan - press and hold the upper left TV button until all buttons across the top light up and release. Press the red TV button and release, The TV button should be lit constantly. Now press the channel up button slowly until the TV turns off. Once it does press the channel down once and then cannel up to see if the TV turns back on. If it does press the pound sign. Now press the record button and you are back in business. 2. Press and hold down select and the red button together until the red light at the top of your Sky remote control flashes twice.

3. Press tv again

Then enter the remote control code using the number keypad. The red light will flash twice if a valid code has been entered.

4. Point your Sky remote control at your TV and press the Power button. If this turns the off as you'd expect, then the tv should be set, press Select and the remote should work

5. If the TV does not turn off press tv, then press the Power button again, repeat this process until the TV turns off, when the TV turns off press Select.

for a toshiba tv,

press tv
press and hold select and red until the led blinks twice
type in 0 1 5 6
press the power button on the remote

If the tv turns off press select and hey presto you're done, if the tv doesn't turn off, press tv then press the power button and keep doing this until the tv turns off. When the tv turns off press select.
