You can try a LBP Fuser Reset and Error Log Clear.

LBP Fuser reset:

Press-function-7-"monitor button 4 times slowly"- then the "start" * button. It should say service mode. push 7 then push 1 then start then push 2. 1 then start

LBP Error Log Clear:

Press-function-7-"monitor button 4 times slowly"- then the "start" * button. It should say service mode then press 6 then press 1 then 6 then you're done.

If that does not work, you need a new fuser and would need to get the printer serviced.

Error code 021 indicates a bad fuser but in some cases, the error can be reset. To attempt a reset, do the following:

1. Remove the toner cartridge and close door back up.
2. Power down the fax (switch is on the back side lower left) for 5-10 seconds.
3. Power on the fax and see if the 021 code is gone.
4. Re-insert toner cartridge

If this doesn't work, there's one other thing to try prior to calling a technician.

1. Push the function button
2. Push 7 on the key pad
3. Push Monitor button 4 times (it will only beep at you)
4. Push * on key pad

You should now see the service menu option

5. Push 7 on the key pad
6. Push "Set" button
7. Push down arrow button once

You should now see the fuser reset option

8. Push "Set" button

You will be prompted for 1 for Yes 2 for no

9. Push 1 on key pad.

You should receive confirmation that the reset is *COMPLETE*

10. Push Stop button until back to the main screen

11. Power down the fax
12. Wait 5-10 seconds.
13. Power on the fax

If this doesn't work, a service call will be needed to replace the fuser. I do hope this fixes your problem.

021 is a fuser error, that can either be reset in service mode or i may need a part in the fuser. Best to call a local service rep.

Error 021 relates to the Fuser unit (the bit that gets hot inside).
It is not related to the toner, which is a bit strange, but try switch off/on first.

Failing that you may need to clear the error in service mode. To access this:

Press "Function", "7", "Monitor" four times, then "*".

The machine should be saying "Service Mode"

Then press "7"

The machine should say "LBP Parameter Set"

(not 100% about the next bit but it should be reasonably straightforward to follow the display on the machine)

You are looking for "LBP Fuser Reset"..I think it is this:

Press "2" for "LBP Fuser Reset"

Press "Start"

The machine may reboot at this point.

If this is done correctly and the error still remains, the Fuser Unit will need replacing.

Same here. I replaced the fuing unit but he error code 021 still is present.

this code means the fuser unit has gone over temperature, as a sftey feature the mc will have to have the fuser unit reset then if the reset (which is done through service mode) doesnt fix it then it may need a new thermostat or lamp.
