Tip & How-To about Cadillac STS-V

Before you go to the mechanic

Get as much info as possible about the problem, what youve done, what youve renewed, how long the problem has been happening,,then write down the vehicle details, chassis number, frame, engine code or serial number, year, auto or manual, kms, service history etc.helps in fixing it.quite often when I was a AA breakdown mechanic,Id get a phone call saying,"Ive broken down, help".very hard to know what parts or tools to take. since it wont let me put this in general cars, its in this one

Front electric seat goes sideways when you try to slide forward

Had there been work done on the seat before this happened? Possible that the seat rails have come loose allowing the seat to move in that direction.

Ok, I replaced the radiator in my 95 Isuzu Trooper and of course had transmission fluid leakage, I filled the transmission fluid back to within specs however now the transmission will work great in first gear and just whines and whines and will not shift now. How is it this happened after changing the radiator and topping off fluid. Ugg

double check that trans fluid level with the car running at normal temp really just sounds like it is still low assuming youve not had any trans problems now if there was over heating issues with car it is possible damange was done to the trans

My speed gage is moving wierd it is getting stuck sometimes. Works fine at times then sometimes I will go about 50 and it will get **** and when I stop it is **** on 50, the rpm gage is also doing it

your vehicle has sensors located in the wheel hub that provide data to the speedometer/tach, possibly a bad sensor or if youve had brakes done recently, they may have been compromised during repairs---it is easy to test for with the corrrect diagnostic experts

my 2001 chevy express headlights turns on and off whenever whereever

Does this happen every 30 seconds? How often does it specifically happen? The vehicle is equipped with day time running lights so you know they will come on and turn off depending on what the photocell senses. Will this symptom still occur if you manually switch the head-lights on? The more specific info the better. What have you done or looked at so far? We need to try to narrow your search down to try to pinpoint it.
