I would actually not remove the front of the washer to do this. Locate the spring clamp that holds the front of the door boot in place and remove it. If you get a flat bladed screwdriver behind it you can roll it out of it's groove.
After you get the door boot loose, you can then remove the three screws that secure the lock in place and slide the lock into the opening of the door boot to disconnect the wires and install the new one.
Good luck with this!!

Disconnect power then open the door and remove the spring-hoop assembly that secures the door gasket. Peel off the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel then pull the door lock and switch assembly out. Transfer the wires to the new door lock and switch assembly then install into place. Put the door gasket back and secure it with the spring-hoop assembly. I have the parts but need the instructions to install a new lock on my Asko frontload Washer/Dryer WD22M19.

Disconnect power then remove the clamp that holds the door gasket to the outer lip of the door opening. Once the clamp is off, peel the door gasket off near the door lock. Remove the screws securing the door lock to the front panel and take the lock out of the machine cabinet. Transfer the wires to the new lock then install it into place. Put the door gasket over the outer lip of the door opening and secure it with the clamp to complete the repair.

Showing F29 ??

F29 is a Door Latch Unlock error. This occurs after the door attempts to lock 6 times. With no successful lock achieved, the error code will be generated. Check the following:

  1. First, UNPLUG the washer in an attempt to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that required in order to clear momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code reappears, proceed to step 2.
  2. Check the door switch/latch for foreign objects that may have become lodged in the mechanism and may be preventing it from operating.
  3. Check the wiring harness from the CCU to the door latch. The harness can be accessed by removing the washer top panel. Remove the panel by removing the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, and then off.

Washer will not completely spin dry . clothes left lying in water. We have checked the water supply hose screen and it is not plugged.

Your door lock switch (not the one that turns your "door locked" light on) which allows your spin cycle to engage is probably not engaging properly. This is usually caused by the failure of the motor which locks the front washer door, and not this switch. As you know, that door is difficult to open even when it is unlocked so there is really no need for it to be locked.
Therefore, instead of spending a pile of money tryng to resolve this problem, make sure it does not happen again by tricking the machine into thinking the door is locked.
To do this first remove the front washer panel. Then remove the front screws which lock down the top cover. This gives you access to this switch. Fold up a piece of stiff paper and jam it in next to this switch so that it alwatys gives a "door is locked" signal to the machine control board.
Your machine should now operate and spin properly.
Of course the washer door will always be unlocked while the washer is operating but my door has never flopped open after making this repair. It certainly beats paying $200 for a replacement control board, and even more if something is also wrong with the locking motor. Remember that any replacement board will be just as junky and defective as the original board was.
Always remember, when you get ready to buy a new washer, not to buy any front loaders, because they are all poorly designed and therefore, because of the cheap materials used overseas in making them, they all rapidly become mechanically defective.
Good luck.

It giving me an F22 code, what is that mean and how do I fix it?

"F22" is a door lock error. The washer locks the door at the beginning of the wash cycle. If, after 6 attempts, the door fails to lock, the error code is displayed. You can attempt to correct the problem by perform the following steps:

1. Unplug the washer for at least 30 minutes in an attempt to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). This is the main control board for the washer. Sometimes this is all that is required to correct some common momentary glitches. If the error code reappears after a CCU reset, proceed to step 2.
2. Check the door switch and locking mechanism for any obvious signs of broken or missing parts.
3. Check the wiring harness from the door latch to the CCU. You will need to remove the washer top panel for access. This is accomplished by UNPLUGGING the washer and removing the three screws that hold the top panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, then off. Verify that the connectors are in place and snug.

If all these preliminary steps still don't fix the problem, the manufacturer recommends replacing the door latch assembly. Replacements can be purchased at appliancepartspros.com. Use the "Search by Part Number" feature and look up part number 8182634.
