Go to your inbox, click the options button (a white square with three
parallel gray lines) as usual. Do not select "Delete" but
"Mark/Unmark". Check the box on the top left hand corner and your phone
will select all but the first message (you can avoid this by first
unchecking the first message or checking the first message separately
with a second touch) then touch "Delete at the bottom center of the
screen". Your messages in that folder are deleted permanently.
Ok try this . go to your messages and select the menu at the bottom left . Scrol down the menu till you get to , mark /unmark .Now simply mark what you dont want and when you finnished just delete , only thing is thet you cant see if the message is a mms or sms .

Ok,so what you should do,is delete some of your threads, and go onto settings and onto SMS counter and up it to 10,000 if your using a smartphone, hope this helped :)

My LG Rumor won't accept any text messages if my inbox is full. Try deleting all of your messages. Then you can turn your phone on "Auto Delete" so it will automaticly delete some messages if your inbox becomes full.
Go to Menu--message--inbox--open up the message which u want to delete n then press the option button---u will see Erase/Delete as an option then click OK.Again press OK if asks for confirmation.That's how u empty your inbox.
If u want to delete all the inbox messages then for that also you have an option in the inbox.

first press menu, select messages, then press menu button again, scroll down to cleanup messages, select, then scroll down to which box you want to delete and select. done!
