Why do you want to reset?

You need to download the driver for the HL-1430 printer for your HL 1030 model which can be found here:

this link provides information for Vista PCs - additional information can be obtained from the Brother website http://www.brother-usa.com/ if required.

Once downloaded you will need to install the printer using the "Add a printer" wizard which can be found in the Control Panel (under printers).

go to Drivers, utilities and software updates for your Brother Product.

Not according the Brother. If you have an HL1230 download and install the HL1430 driver.

The reason that you cannot find Windows 7 drivers for your printer is simply because they don't exist!

Despite the fact that Windows 7 is quite popular and has been out for a month (a lot longer for those who have beta tested like me), not everyone has created drivers that are made for this OS (operating system).

I recommend that you try the Vista drivers, either the regular ones or the 64-bit one, depending on whether or not you're using Windows 7 x64 or x86. Here's a link to the drivers. In the event that it doesn't work, really your only other option is to try the XP drivers.

Open the front of the printer via the 2 tabs on the sides of the front door. Lift the toner/drum assembly out of the printer. You should be able to see the paper in the unit. Carefully pull the paper out of the unit. You may want to run a few pages through the printer to pick up any residual toner before printing another document.

Resetting the printer should clear the flashing leds (flashing lights.)

How to Perform A Factory Reset:
1. Turn the printer off.

2. Hold in the circular button on the front panel of the printer.

3. Turn the printer back on.

4. When the DRUM light is lit by itself let go of the button. Hold in
the circular button on the front panel again. Once the Alarm light comes
on, let go of the button. This has performed a factory reset on the printer.

If the alarm continues, the printer may need service.

Connect the device to a different usb port. Download the newest software/drivers from the Belkin web site. Remove the old software and install the newest downloaded version. Please supply the error.
