My Ricoh 3500 color printer no longer is printing in color--just greys. It does not seem to be a problem with the color cartridges. Also, it streaks from left to right across a page from light to lighter (grey to light grey) when I do print. Any suggestions? I use an iMac g5 computer (new).

The streaking could be anything internal to the printer, such as the transfer belt or a drum unit. As for the lack of color, that sounds like it is a setting in the print driver that got changed from printing in color to printing in monochrome or grayscale. Look through your print driver settings to see if you can locate this setting and change it back to color. Also, once you print in color again you may notice that the streaking is a specific color, which will help to troubleshoot that issue.

How to reset replacement required print cartridge ricoh sp 3510/3500

"Replace Print Cartridge" remains in
display. Then a new AIO cartridge must
be installed. This feature is a safety
measure to prevent the used toner tank
from becoming full (there is no toner
overflow detection mechanism).

Black in coming out grey

Ensure that cartridge are not refilled, then only you do the following process:>Got to printer properties>printing preferences>color>select print in grey scale>apply>OK.. Then check..Reason why its act like this: In printer properties if its selected as print in color, printer mixes colors to create black(which is visible look like dark grey).Select in properties as above said before clicking OK for the print command, then only printer uses mono cartridge..

Printer will not print

If you go to control panel, printers and fax, right click on your printer, then select properties you will see a section for color or grayscale printing. Select grayscale for all your jobs to be printed in B&W.

Good Luck,

You could remove the color cartridge altogether, or just select "Print in grey scale" from the printer properties box.

Prints grey not black

I solved this problem but probably not what the printer manufacturer would recommend! The reason you are just getting grey is that the black ink cartridge is either empty or dried out from non use and only the color cartridge is working. I had the same problem after being away for 5 months. I put the printer cartridge in a bowl of warm water to disolve the dried out ink on the print pad. I dried off the cartridge with a soft cloth and then it worked perfectly.
