You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt"
key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas
on the computer.

I cant format acer aspire one laptop. Please help.

I wouldn't try to reformat, I would try to 'recover' through the 'recovery console' which is available from the help menu under that search term. This will make the computer go back to its original Windows XP or Windows 7 state that it was in on the first day you opened up the computer.

Need to factor reset,|NOT REBOOT, for acer aspire 3630 windows xp

Hi and welcome to Fixya..

Reinstalling Windows XP on an Acer Aspire 3000 is fairly straightforward. You may need to reinstall Windows XP due to hardware failure, a virus infection, major hardware changes or a hard drive upgrade. Whatever the reason, you can do the reinstall yourself at home. The reinstall will take anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 hours, depending on the size of your hard drive. Be aware that reinstalling Windows XP will format your hard drive, getting rid of all data on, so you'll want to back it all up on a media device.
  • Step 1
Back up all data on your computer before reinstalling.
  • Step 2 Insert the Windows XP disk and restart your computer.
  • Step 3 Press any key when prompted to begin running the disk.
  • Step 4 Press F8 to agree to the terms of service.
  • Step 5 Choose the partition you want to reinstall Windows XP on. This is usually "C:" for most users.
  • Step 6 Choose the type of format. You can choose either "Quick" or "Full" for NTFS systems. A quick format only takes a few minutes less than the full format.
  • Step 7 Wait for the format to complete. The Windows XP installation wizard will begin. You will be asked to choose your time zone, computer name, and to input any network information. Otherwise, the reinstall will run by itself.

  • I hope this helps

Reformat Of Acer Aspire 3680 Help

If all you need is to format the disk
    1. Insert your XP disk
    2. reboot you machine after cancelling all the installation set up details
    3. Follow the instructions that follow as if you are installing Xp afresh (install, Accept terms,) then choose drive to install XP on (the one with current XP or else others) press delete (D) and follow the instruction to accept
    4. After deleting choose Install XP and chose to format your disk the way you want Fast/Slow to FAT/NTFS
Please note formatting is deleting everything (EVERYTHING) on that disk preparing to store new information as a blank HDD i.e. you will lose everything on the disk viruses, bad stuff and all your valuable data on it
