You need to get in touch with Lg and they will help you. All you need is for them to either post you a usb with software or they can email it to you and you can put it on a usb and put it on your tv via usb port and update the software on your tv.

The frequency for the new channel is not on your tv but they will give you the software to update so it works.

Good luck!

When connected to the Panasonic DVD player I get a message when on One HD and any channel above that - "Unable to decode HD". How can I connect to these channels through the player?

You can't, without an external HD set top box connected via the recorder's inputs. HD is not a standard digital tuner format for this or any model Panasonic DVD recorder that I am aware of. Panasonic do not offer a way for the user/owner to skip the HD channels (which cannot be decoded) in these units. You can only skip analogue channels in VCRs/DVD recorders (which feature an integrated SD digital/analogue tuning system) - stupid really. It just means you need a separate box to get all the available HD channels through the unit.

Yes, 7mate (channel 73) is HD (but it isn't specified on their website or in the EPG) as is Gem ( channel 90) and of course One HD.

I assume your machine has a built in SD digital tuner.

I get no sound or picture on channels 90 (GEM) and 73 (7mate) but i do get their guide. Every other channel is fine. I have done auto channel search a few times and nothing has helped.

I ended up ringing LG who we got our plasma tv with and they sent me out a usb device that I plugged into my tv and now I get sound!

TV no sound but pictures ok, changed channels ok

The mts/sap function on your television might be enabled. Locate the audio settings on your television and make sure you are set for either stereo or mono. You may have an audio or mts button on your remote. If not this should be in the menu.

The cable company may have made a recent change and the tv may need to be channel buffered or you may need to complete another channel scan.

I'm new to the HD world...just purchased a LG 42LH40 a couple days ago...and have a couple questions to make sure my TV is operating right. 1) When watching an HD channel (CBS for instance) there is about...

Check in the manual or with the manufacturer, but the TV should auto configure the picture based on the signal.
I have a Toshiba that does the same thing.

There is no mistake when HD is in effect, as the picture is superb.

"No Signal" on channel 9

Appears you are getting a weak signal at the channel 9 frequency. If you are using a signal splitter, try replacing it with an amplified unit since splitters always do the deed but they can and will reduce signal strength significantly.

Also remember that digital signals are not like the older analog ones that they replace. They are not subject to ghosting but are weaker and susceptible to all sorts of interference such as a leaf, rain, etc. Your antenna is good.
You also might try raising the antenna. The higher it is the better it works. (use some wire to further support additional height) Why do you think transmitters are so tall?!?!?

DIGITAL/HD CHANNELS

hi there, i have the LG 50in Plasma and just updated the channel connection by doing the following:

1. Make sure your remote is in "TV" mode.
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Highlight "Auto-program" (Should be the first item on the Menu)
3. Scroll over to "To Start" and press OK.

The TV will automatically search for all available analogue, digital and HD signals and may take a few minutes.
Once complete, it will return to the last program you were on and you will find all channels available.

To check the guide or the time, you need to press the "guide" button. Make sure your remote is in "TV" mode. Alternatively, pressing OK at any time shows you the time and channel that you are on.

Hope that helps!

TV freezes when switching to a digital channel

Issue was with the HD channels only.
Updated the firmware of the TV to ver 2.

Now the TV will stutter for a second when changing to a HD channel but it no longer locks up.
