Hi. i bought my acer aspire 5583 3 years ago...now it suddenly can not be turned on... last 2 weeks i still can play it..but one week later when i came back from holiday...i found out sth wrong with my notebook...it is hard to turn on...when it is on...it will on for only some seconds and off by itself...i try couple times...the case is still the same...even i unplugged the cable ..replace back...and also the unplug-replace the battery still doesn't help... now it even worse..it can't be turned on anymore...i try to bring it to my city acer service center...they rejected my notebook..because it was bought in other country....anyone help me pleasssseee.... thanksss

This is just a suggestion ... try removing the battery and turning the computer on with only the mains power lead attached.

Sometimes, as the battery dies, it does silly things with the computer.

If it works, order a new battery.

Hi, i bought last week acer 5742 aspire laptop when i play music on that only left side sound system activate right side sounds remain quit

This model comes only with 1 speaker which is located on the left side.
You can see it if you look from top down above the speakers with good lighting.

Although they list it as setero in the spec, it is actually not.

I have acer aspire 5583 and just last week I have problem with it..WQhen I turned on my laptop I am prompted with this BSOD and it says ...nv4_disp.....and when I turned it off and on only black screen...

Sounds like a video problem to me.
Can you start in safe mode?
If so, set the video properties to a generic VGA card or even try a system restore in case the video driver has become corrupt.
Can you get into the cmos setup? If so, check the settings and set everything to default or startup values.
If still no luck, I'm thinking you have a problem with your video card. To further test, hook it up to an external monitor just to be sure that it's not the monitor.

Acer freezes and slow speed

Eliminate physical problems first. Make sure you have no heat issues or defective hardware. Next, note what software is installed on the machine. Was there toolbars or unrecognized programs on it now that werent there 2 weeks ago? Finally, note who uses the machine. Some people dont pay attention to what they do when surfing the net, or you may have someone visiting poisoned websites. Narrow the field, and the problem will reveal itself.

Can't play any music on Aspire 3680

try to update the sound drivers everything will be fine i think some settings of system audio software are not set correctly but it will reset all settings this update thing pls follow the link to update

My Acer won't play DVD's or music or anything anymore! help!

Optical drives are only made to last for 2 years, that's what I was told by HP when I had a HP laptop. It may have died. Trying looking for a replacement on Ebay, or try just Googling it. You can get good deals on the Internet if you shop around.
