Unless the number was displayed in alternation with 888, leave the house and call 911. You need to have someone to check your appliances for incomplete burning, leaks in their exhaust piping or a vehicle that is running inside or too close to an air intake. The 203 is the current carbon monoxide reading. The 888 indicates a self-test and other number is only shown for test purposes.

However, if you have misplaced your Owners Manual, you can contact the company"s Customer Service Dept for a replacement, as well as what the Error Code means and how to solve it. Hello: Here is a breakdown of the codes you have: 888 is the segment check which tells you the system can display all codes, E-52 tells you the battery has been disconnected. It tells you that an idle learn should be performed. This idle learn is a very long procedure, you need a Service manual to perform it. The F-31 means there is a communication problem between the fuel data panel and the BCM (body control module). Most likely a Fuel Data Panel, but it could be wiring and/or a intermittent BCM. It would require intensive trouble shooting. 7.0 means the self diagnostic system is ready to go to the next step. If you go to Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts you can buy a manual for your car (about 20.00 Dollars) I would like to be of more help but what you have requires hands on troubleshooting.

The code 888 only means the self test is completed, if no other codes came up, it's hard to tell what the problem is.
It could be the climate control modual, without further testing, it's just guessing.

It's only the final steady number that is the reading. When you push TEST it will show 888 and beep annoyingly a few spaced times and then it will display a number between 100 and 400 (around 200 ,,, I had 217) that is just the detector testing to see if it can display numbers. These are NOT CO levels. Then it goes back to 888 and finally displays a steady number. If it's 0 then you're clear. All o f this from the owners manual.
