Xerox 5837 Fault Code 06-305 I can't find this code anywhere and all it says when I push the i (info) button is "Call Service Technician" .. which would be ok, but we are 50+ miles from the nearest major city where Xerox repairmen are .. any suggestions?

There is a problem with mcu. Try reconect mcu plugs

If this does not work. Unplug the machine from the wall while still on
do not power down first. treat it like the power just went off in your building. While the machine is still off not plugged to the wall. Press the power button several times. This will erase any saved info on memory.
Plug machine back on an try again. If it does it again you will need to replace your hard drive and that will take a service call.

try to hold down the on/reset button a few seconds when you power it up ...on most printers this resets them ..about 10 sec it is enough ...

Dear sir; Thank you to bring out the question to refresh my memory, I hope is correct! the error code 06-43 or 40 that all belong to optical problem, my suggestion ;
1, remove the glass plateform
2, check the exposure lamp continuaty, if nocontinuaty replace it.
3, check the exposure thermos fuse continuaty,if no continuaty replace it.

If you donot find paper in the machine check for a stuck actuator or a bad sensor.
