KDS Laptop!? Hi ya doing, I found a previous post you answered in a very knowledgable manner on the very same laptop that I have also. If you dont; mind, I would like to "pick your brain". I have a problem: The laptop will not get past the POST. I stops at "mouse initialized" with the "press F2" prompt at the bottom. So...the laptop doesn't freeze, because I can leave it sitting for hours, come back, and it will do the "Entering setup..." but THAT IS IT. Any help would be fine! Thanks in advance!

Wow. Never heard that one before. Here are a few ideas as they come off my fingers: 1. Try a reload of the operating system, what is referred to as a repair install. 2. You could try booting from a diskette and then try to find out what is wrong with the recognition of the mouse. 3. Perhaps hooking up a usb mouse? 4. Disable the laptop mouse in the bios, which hopefully you can get to before the hang. Take your pick and work from easiest to hardest. The boot looks like it is freezing on the laptop mouse, so if you want to get past that portion of the boot, you have to resolve it or blow away the code that is not recognizing the mouse, if you presume that the mouse is funcitonal. If not, fix the mouse. Hope this helps Karl

Hi there i got a problem with my acer aspire 6530 My acer ask me for a bios password **** i dont have 1and i dont now what to do now can you help me with my problem

the password is stored in your CMOs which is powered by a very small battery on the motherboard. Theres only 3 ways to remove that password...

Send it to the manufacture to have them remove it as the following two step call for you voiding your warranty.

Open up the laptop by removing the 15-20 screws off the bottom of the unit, then find this small watch like battery and remove it, keep it removed for about 10 seconds then place it back in the unit.

If the battery cannot be found then it would be best to contact someone who is familiar with motherboard jumper settings or if neither of the previous answers I gave work for you then re-post asking for the specifics of your make and models motherboard jumper settings...

Problem still not solved

i went through your previous questions and comments and what i figured out is, you have either probelme with HDD or OS.
so First step: try to install fresh OS(oeprating system) for that
just insert the recovery disk (it comes along with your laptop when you buy) and reboot you Laptop and once it detects the CD/DVD then hit enter before it crosses 5 soconds and follow the instructions which appear on screen.
if it wont let you to install new OS then it will say something such as: HDD no found etc.
oh! if your Disk is not automatically detected then press F2 and go to Boot sequence and choose CD first.
if your problem still styas even doing these all then better to take to Expert because it's hard to say exact answer withouth looking at your Laptop.
Thanks and Happy NEW year 2009
