Door will not open

Hello. I need the make/model number to help you accurately. Most likely, you have a defective door switch and/or the catch is broken/worn enough so the door isn't held closed properly. Supply the model number and I should be able to provide the part number you need.

I asume this is after the machine has finnished it's wash and all the water has gone.
Door switcheds are a common fault on a washing machine. because they are in circuit all the time. Easy enough to replace. POWER OFF AND PLUG OUT !
With door open, if there is a clip around the front of the door seal then remove it by gently prising it off. Becareful not to damage the door seal. Undo the two screws where the lock is. Where the door lock is located, peel back the door seal enoght to get at the lock and bring it out side of the panel. Make a note of where the wires are and remove them. refit a new lock and replace parts in reverse order.

Have you tried to open it when turned off at power. Wait 5 secs after turning off door release should open. If this does not work, put on a wash cycle, start machine then turn off the cycle and switch machine off. Door should open. Failing this I would say door lock mechanism is faulty.

Error codes appear when there are problems with the door, the inflow and drainage of water and the motor.

Do
Your Maytag Neptune washer displays the "do" help code when the washing machine is trying to start a cycle, but the door is open or not locked properly. If this message is displayed, close the door securely and restart the washing cycle.

FL
The "FL" code indicates that the washing machine was unable to lock the door after you closed it. Open and close the door tightly, then restart the washing cycle.

Sd
The "Sd" code indicates that you have added too much detergent to the washing machine and your laundry has too many suds. PF

Lr

It sounds like the door lock has failed.
Call the seller before you do anything as you don't want to invalidate the warranty. You may be able to remove the top of the machine and defeat the interlock which is preventing the door opening from the inside.(REMOVE POWER FIRST)

it could be simply a sticky saftey switch neverless a pain, you could try disconecting the power supply to the machine as the catch is held in a lock state by a current, remove the current and it could reset, if still does not reset this is always hard to explain, but using your fist like a hammer bang the area around the catch as this could free the sticking (still with power off) catch dont bang it hard but it need to be firm use discretion ---post back if more help needed

Seems like the door switch is failing, or failed.
wpecially if a front loader, the door has to be closed, and register on the circuit as closed before the machine will start.
they are cheap and easy to replace, most of the time, but cant give instructions for an unknown whirlpool other than
take front panel off

you have a blocked pipe - where the water is draining out. Either that or your filter is blocked.

best you open the back and take a look at the filter before calling out hotpoint - might save you 100 pound call out charge.

you will need to get some help to put the machine near your back door so that you can put the gray hose out side the door when all water is gone your door should open if not then you need to take your pump out and clean it out and then take the filter out it might have a sock or some thing clean it out and buy the time you have put it all back the door should of opened take any thing out of the drum put the machine back and put it on a program so some water can get in the machine then or put it on a rise and spin that will be a good program to put it on if the machine finnish then its all done.
