Switch the lock symbol on the bottom of the player to unlock the little button from left to right. That should do the trick.

My mp3 is locked

Hello

If a "Locked" message appears on the screen and the unit turns off, release the lock by sliding the "Hold" button on the left side of the player up into the unlocked position. Press the "Power" button again to turn the player on.

Locked down cant get into it

alot of these units have a tiny padlock slide switch on the top or bottom end. It may be as simple as sliding this over. However, so many units vary, i'd suggest pulling out the ol' manual, or finding one online for your unit. best of luck

Ihave gogear sa32x wh i turn on on screen i see philips logo and

you may need to install the driver for the computer to recognise the mp3 player (go to control panel, swich to classic view if it isnt already and go to add hardware then follow the onscreen instuctions). 'ready to disconnect' is normal it is just telling you that it is safe to remove the player from the computer. 2 possibilities for turning off: the battery needs charging (connect to computer to do this) or the player is locked. refer to the user manual under controls to find out how to unlock it. as far as i know, as i have a gogear sa1922, there is a slider somewhere on the player to unlock it. hope this helps, solver214!

Lightning Strike in Battery Symbol

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).

Cannot unlock it

The hold button is activated. The hold button stops buttons accidently being pressed when the player is being used during sport or exercise.

Slide the hold button towards the RESET button hole in the side of the casing.

Locked mp3 player

I don't know this model, but most mp3 players have a lock switch. This is handy, enabling you to lock the keys so you don't switch it on or off by accident.

Look for a switch on the player. it might be marked "Hold" or "Lock" or have a padlock symbol next to it.

Let me know how you get on.
