Question about Powerline Ethernet Network Adapter

1 Answer

I have been using my Belkin powerline adapter without any problem. I bought another powerline adapter to use in my office. To test if it is working I used it in place of the belkin powerline connected to my computer. I cannot get the internet any longer. The status shows that I am getting 169.254.x.x ip address. I tried manually setting up the tcp/ip using the setting of my belkin powerline. I still cannot get internet. Please help me if there is other options to fix my powerline.

Using belkin gigabit powerline adapter with a wirless router

Try to configure the 2 routers to work with one another when they are next to each other using standard ;an cable. Once working the powerline should work fine. If you try to configure them when they are apart you have 2 things that could be causing problems to take out the powerline to begin with, then when they are working close, move them apart

There are two standards for powerline: HomePlug 1.0, which has a maximum link speed of 85Mbps and HomePlug AV, which has a maximum link speed of 200Mbps. You can use the two standards within the same building, but they are not compatible with each other.

HomePlug 1.0 - F5D4050, F5D4070. Powerline Turbo (F5D4071, F5D4073)

I have just bought Belkin Powerline AV starter kit. I have a Belkin N1 Wireless Modem Router connected through a Carrier PoE adapter. I have tried to connect my Sony TV and PS3 through the powerline units...

Try reset the device and start a new configuration. It seems that your networwork have issues between the router and the powerlines. All need to be in the same network as per router configuration.Connect one adapter to your router and plug it into an available electrical outlet. Plug the second adpter into an available wall outlet and connect the other end to any device with an available Ethernet port such as a gaming console, set-top box, or computer.

pd: OS to use the adapters; Windows 2000, XP or Vista.

I have two Belkin powerline adaptors 200mbps type

Your hard disk is failing and should be replaced. Have you tried to press F1 when you get the message? If this doesn't help try to enter the bios and disable S.M.A.R.T.
Your first goal is to save the data so please do that before it's too late.

Trouble expanding my Belkin Powerline network

F5D4075 uses Homeplug AV standard and F5D4071 used Home plug 1.0 Turbo. Both are not compatible to each other. So if you form a network, you have to form with the same standard.
Secondly, You need just one Powerline adapter on the router and you can have 2 or 3 adapter connected to 1 computer each and all these computers can connect to the 1 adapter on the router. You do not have to use it in pairs
