Manual download & time lapse

Hi :-) Two questions; 1) I'm trying to download the manual for the Kodak EasyShare DX6490 camera and it's not working. I'm using Windows Vista and Firefox. 2) Is there a way to do time lapse photography with this camera?

Do you have the software (Disk) that comes with the camera? Often the users manual is on the disk along with your camera's software. I had a camera that was both a camera and a webcam. It was not a Kodak easyshare, so this might not apply, but when I installed the software on my computer, it put two icons on the desktop, one for editing photos and the other for using my camera as a webcam. If you don't get two icons, you probably do not have webcam capability.

SOURCE: Kodak Easyshare camera turns on and off

Hi, here is whats going on, if your M763 is powering on for 2 secs and the lense opens up then go's right back in, there is a 90% chance you got sand in the unit from say the beach ?

here is a test , when you press the power buttion watch the lense you will notice that the bigger part rotates as it comes out, what you want to do is give it a little help Lightly rotate it abit more just at the point where it normaly stops and go's back in, the cam will prob stay on and work like normal.

now the hard part 2 things to try, a can of AIR from walmarts try to blow out and sand thats around the rings, i did this and have fixed about 20 of these's now, on the others you will need to take it apart and clean the gears and mech of the lense housing then put it all back together.

hope this helps

Yes you are. My wife denied that she dropped in the sand but I found a list of photos that she wanted to print on a post-it paper in the cover and it had sand all over the sticky part. Used the pressure air spray to clean the rings and it is back to life. Well It worked but there was some problem during zoom in&out, so I spray the rings while zooming and out and that cleaned it. I hope I don't have to open it to clean the mechanism. Thank you.

Hi i have kodak DX6490 digital camera, and the videos will not upload to my computer through any program any help?

In order to transfer photos from your camera to your computer, you need to

1- Install the drivers for your camera. The drivers are located in the CD which came with your camera. If you do not have the CD, go to Kodak web site and download the drivers for your kodak from here:

http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=13179&product=EKN035311

2- Connect your camera to your PC.
3- if the drivers are installed correctely, click start, and then the computer icom. There should be an icon with name kodak....., double click that and you probably see one or more folders with your save pictures.
4- Now you can copy or cut and past one or more pictures from your camera to your computer. I hope it helps you.
Good Luck!!!!

Kodak dx6490 won't download pictures

Hello Billy, Sounds like a Windows OS problem, have you tried rebooting the PC ? You may have to uninstall the kodak software and reinstall it. try plugging the camera in directly to the PC with the usb cable. One of these should solve your problem.

Kodak dx6490 Powers up and shuts itself off.Battery is charged!

Hello, Sounds like you may have a battery problem. The DX6490 battery loses it's capacity over time, If the battery is a couple years old they are known to fail. May not be any problem with camera, try a new battery and let it charge completely before installing it.
