I already posted this question yesterday but accidently deleated the answer before I had a chance to read it in my emails. So here it is again.
I have a new computer and have installed cubase se whiih I have used for years on my last computer (that just crashed). I understand that I can run cubase se on windows 7, correct? But the problem is the playback. I have recorded an audio track from my keyboard. When I record another audio track with vocals and play it back, it is not in sync with the keyboard track. It is just slighly behind. Any help for this?

Hey lea,
i have a similar setup (Cubase LE & Tascam 144) and each time i start up Cubase i have to make sure there is no digital input going to the tascam. once cubase is started up but no project loaded i plug in my spdif from my DAT machine and then open my project and all is fine. does that answer part of your question?
i have a different problem though, i'm trying to record my DAT tapes which are recorded at 32khz and cubase doesn't recognize that sample rate properly. it'll record no problem, and play them back fine, but exporting always creates mismatched sample rates in the exported file. sucks big time and i have got no idea on how to fix it either.

I was having the same problem with an old Sound Blaster Live audio card. When I was exporting, there would be sound-blank-sound-blank.. etc. The problem was that it could not handle all the effects and plug-ins. It was a Multimedia ASIO driver (software). So, I will guess that either the audio card cannot handle ASIO drivers HARDWARE, either the driver in the devices menu is not set to hardware, and it runs on software ASIO. If your card cannot support hardware ASIO, then you must work with low sample rate (44100) and almost no effects. VST instruments will also have much latency.

This might seem simple, but just to check: you have switched off the monitor on the track when you go to playback? With track monitor engaged, you will not hear playback, but will continue to hear the live monitor.

Try resetting it if there is a reset on the card. If not there has to be a solution associated with the software. Did it happen while you were using it? Try the default settings
