I am not sure if you will depends on how much water coffee reached the motherboard inside. Sometimes you can open them up with a screwdriver and let it air out for 24hrs and then try. If after 24hrs it doesn't come back on you might have to get another one. It truely depends on if anything shortened out.

Soda was spilled on sharp el1179p

do not power on the device, it is crucial that you leave it to dry and as soon as possible put it in a bag of rice. The rice will absorb the moisture in the device. You should give it about two weeks (the longer the better) and you should have completely removed all battery components at this point if there are any. After a generous waiting period of two weeks or so, take it out of the rice and give it a try. I spilled a full 8 oz cup of hot coffee RIGHT into my laptop keyboard and it immediately shut off but I followed the above steps and I am using it right now just fine and it is a year later. Good luck!

Hi
Sounds like your thumbscrew is getting stripped. Its the same for all the older machines.

If its only partially stripped it slips up and allows the water to enter the brew head pocket where the thumbscrew is and the spill over into the dredge drawer. Check the brew head for water.

Spilled coffee on D600 notebook, power supply

Unfortunetly that sounds like it may have been enough to cause fatal damage. If it was plugged in or running then it most likley caused an electrical short . If it wasn't powered you may have just killed the keyboard.

I've tried to fix several laptops broight in that had coffee, beer, soda, and water spilled on them. Everyone turned out to be non repairable. The worst one was only 3 days old and that was coffee and considered user abuse which meant no warrenty.

You could replace the mainboard and the keyboard if needed and get it running again. That would cost more than this is worth. You should be able to put the hard drive into a usb case ($15 +) and copy off your files and such. It is fixable but not really worth doing.

Graphing calculator got coffee spilled on it

Your only hope is to open the case and wash out all the coffee with plain water. Don't forget to clean all the keys and switches under them. Dry and reassemble. This is a last chance procedure and may fail.
Don't spill liquids on electronic gadgets as the result is either much work or must replace.

Coffee spill in calculator

I've wetted a wide variety of gadgets, and I've found that generally- not always mind you- leave it to dry for a few days, it could come right on. DO NOT plug in the machine until you're certain there's no remaining liquid inside, and when you plug it in do so at your own risk; be aware that some conductive mineral in your coffee might have been deposited inside, across a circuit and short the whole thing. A short may result in fire. You can make the process alot safer by plugging into a GFCI outlet (one of the ones with the breaker built in, like in a kitchen). I've had calculators and phones, cellphones, a playstation and even a network card survive a drop into water (and other liquids >
