Printing out crooked...fix?

My pages are printing out crooked, I've gone to tools and selected align printer, but even that sheet comes out crooked. How can I fix this?

  • Anonymous Jun 30, 2010

I have had this problem for months now. It has been reset a number of times. I'm starting to think that it's the paper guard that is supposed to hold it snug to the right.... =/

Have you tried to reset your printer, not just realign. Power down completely, you want to reset it and then align itself,

  • sonyamw Jun 30, 2010

Yeah, the paper guard needs to be snug and when you load your paper, you need to verify how it's being pulled into the printer,. One of your rollers could be the problem, it it's always the same side.

When printing color there are lines that appear across the page

This issue is usually caused by miss-aligned cartridges or failing cartridges.
Try re-aligning the cartridges by going through the setup and selecting option to realign.

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Press the up or down arrow buttons to select Maintenance and press the OK button.
  3. Press one of the button to print an alignment sheet. Note: Do not cancel printing while you are printing a head alignment pattern.
This alignment can also be done using utility software for this printer.

If alignment does not fix the issue then try cleaning cartridge before replacing them. Procedure for cleaning is the same as above.

Crooked printing

This printer is faulty, I suggest you return it to the supplier to get it repaired or replaced under warranty.
If you try to fix it yourself you could void your warranty.

The Lexmark x5495 printer is not printing correctly. The printout is not aligned properly. The printout is crooked. How can you solve this problem?

Try to re-seat your cartridges and make sure they are properly inserted in the cartridge carrier.
If that doesn't help, please do the Align Cartridges function on your printer. From the printer operator panel, while on Copy mode, press the Menu button > Tools > Maintenance > Align Cartridges. You printer will then print a test page that will help align the cartridges.
After the page is printed, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed. Thanks.

Hp deskjet 5650 printer is printing A test page after every print job I do. I've tried system shutdowns restarts and turning the printer on and off.

It might be prinitng the alignment sheet because you might have replaced the cartridges receently. So pleae scan that sheet once to complete the alignment and I believe it will fix the issue.

Alignment page is printing crooked

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Language and printing problem

Hi-

Please follow these steps to make sure your printer is physically functioning.

1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the USB printer cable.

2. Load letter-size paper in the sheet feeder.

3. Hold down the STOP button as you press the ON button. Hold down both buttons until the ON light begins to flash, then release the buttons.

4. The Nozzle Check page begins printing.

If the page prints, your printer is operating. Your problem may be caused by your computer, cable, software, or setting selections. Check for additional solutions or re-install your software.

If the pattern on the page has gaps, clean or align the print head.

If the page does not print, the printer may have a problem and troubleshooting the printer is required prior to using it with the computer.

5. If there are no gaps, press OK.

Misaligned Printing

if you do an internal test page ( there should be a button on the machine you push for this function, I'll give you the link for the manual in case you don't have it) does it come out crooked?

the alignment of cartridge is to make sure the colors are o.k. not for paper alignment.
if the internal test comes out ok then the problem is with the paper path, are the guides snug against the paper ?
if the internal test comes out crooked then the problem is with the scanner or board.
