Kenmore side by side 106.55639500. Ice maker stopped making ice. The shut off arm is down and can feel it click when move it up and down, so I believe that the icemaker is on. I disconnected wires to the icemaker water inlet valve solenoid and put 120 VAC to it from another source and it opened and water filled the mold - so it is not a water delivery problem.

Pretty bold question. But you have to check is it freezing in there? Is your lines froze up? Is your water pumping to the ice maker? Lots of different senarios.

Kenmore bottom freezer ice maker not working.

  1. Reset the ice maker: Check the manual that came with your fridge for instructions on how to reset the ice maker. Many refrigerator models have a reset button or switch that can be used to reset the ice maker.
  2. Check the water supply: Be sure the water supply to the refrigerator has not been turned off or become obstructed. If the water supply is turned off or obstructed, the ice maker will not make ice.
  3. Check for obstructions: Make sure there are no obstructions in the ice maker that would prevent it from making ice. If there is something blocking the ice maker, remove it and try again.
  4. Check the ice maker components: check the components of the ice maker such as the water inlet valve, ice mold thermostat or heater. The problem could be with one of these components and replacing them might solve the problem.
If trying these steps doesn't solve the problem, it might be time to replace the ice maker.

WRF535SMBMOO Whirlpool refrigerator without door water dispenser, but has ice maker, why does ice maker start and stop making ice ? Ice "arm" is in on position but no ice being made.

If your Whirlpool WRF535SMBMOO refrigerator has an ice maker that starts and stops making ice, there could be a problem with the ice maker itself or with the water supply to the ice maker. Here are a few things you can try to fix the problem:
  1. Make sure that the ice maker is turned on. The ice maker has an on/off switch or button that you may need to activate to start making ice.
  2. Check the water supply line to make sure it is not kinked or clogged. The water supply line delivers water to the ice maker, and if it is blocked, the ice maker will not be able to make ice.
  3. Check the water inlet valve to make sure it is open and functioning properly. The water inlet valve is responsible for controlling the flow of water to the ice maker, and if it is not working properly, the ice maker will not be able to make ice.
  4. Check the ice maker for any visible damage or debris. If the ice maker is damaged or clogged with debris, it may not be functioning properly.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, it is possible that there is a problem with the ice maker itself. In this case, you may need to have the ice maker inspected by a technician to determine the cause of the issue.

Fridge will dispense water and ice but will not make ice

You question " Fridge will dispense water and ice but will not make ice" If its not making ice then how its dispensing the ice. This is bit confusing me,-------- as per your question i assume you mean to say, that its dispensing the watyer but its not making ice. ------------

Ice maker stopped making ice. For this problem you have check few things. First thing, is the water filling in the ice maker chamber and then ice maker not making ice? Or, the water is not filling in the ice maker chamber so it's not making ice. If the water is not filling in the ice maker chamber then it's clear that ice is not getting made due to no water in the chamber. For no water filling, the problem is either water supply valve turned off so water is not filling. Turn on the water supply and it will fill. But if the water supply is turned on then the other possibility is ice blockage in the water fill tube. There is a tube from which the water runs and enters the ice maker chamber. If this tube is blocked then water will not enter the chamber. The tube needs to be defrosted, by using hair dryer. This procedure melts the ice collected in the tube and water starts running again. But if water fill tube is completely clear and no ice blockage or any other blockage. Then other possibility is water valve at the back of ice maker unit. This water valve is for letting the water in the ice maker. The water valve open only for 7 seconds and in this time the water fills in the ice maker chamber and then water valve closes and the same procedure runs again in the next water filling cycle.------- For your information I will mention that there are two valves. One is the main valve the back of the fridge section. This main valve lets the water enter the refrigerator and other valve is at the back of ice-maker section. This other valve lets the water to enter the ice maker. In most of the cases the fault is water valve at the back of ice maker section. ------------- The other above possibilities which I gave you is water not filling in ice-maker chamber so it's not making ice. But now consider that water is filling in ice maker chamber but it's still not making ice. Then the problem is ice maker unit itself. This unit is controlled by main board. But in most cases if water is filling the ice maker but it's not making ice then its faulty ice maker unit. So see if the problem is water not entering the ice maker then the water fill tube is frosted by ice or the water valve at the back of ice maker is faulty. Replace the valve. ------------

Crosley side by side ice maker makes to much ice !!!!!!

Most ice makers have a wire bar that senses when the ice bucket is full. The bar lifts up when new ice is made. The ice maker determines if the ice bucket is full by lowering the bar back down after the ice drops into the bucket. If the bar hits the ice cubes in a full bucket, the ice maker shuts off. If the bar drops all the way and dosen't touch ice cube, the ice maker continues making ice until the bucket is full.

So you likely have one of the following problems:
1) The wire bar is missing or bent. Check to make sure that when the bar is pushed up, the ice maker stops making ice. Most bars will 'click' into the up position so you can shut the ice maker off. Push the bar up until it clicks into the up position and wait overnight to see if it makes more ice. If there is no wire bar over the ice bucket, that is your problem.

2) The switch the wire bar is connected to is malfunctioning. If you push the wire bar up and the ice maker continues to make ice, this is likely your problem. You will need a new ice maker unit. Try Appliance Parts Pros or EBay for a new unit.
