TV does not show as sign that it has power will not turn on

TV was working fine when it was cut off at night. The next day it would not do anything. I have verified that power is available. Tried to turn on @ tv and w/remote. Nothing absoulutly nothing! No signs of a problem prior to this. Is it ready to be set out to the road?

My Philips TV will not turn on

More than likely it's activating the protection circuitry. Most of the time televisions won't give you a sign of trouble until something actually breaks. One day they work and the next they might not. There could be a problem in the power supply or the scan section which are both internal that would inhibit operation to prevent your set from overheating and causing a problem external to the TV like a fire. If your set is over 10 years old, replace it. If it's quite new but out of warranty then get an estimate at a reliable electronics repair store.

Power problems

Most likely the power supply. The part number is 270530 and cost around $130. You would need a volt meter to test.

Trinitron KV-36FS13

The problem is in the standby power section. Check the fuse, R607, or burnt IC601, fuse R612 and VD relay 601 should show open. Its possible it could be the high voltage area of the power supply. You can try unplugging the set and cable and let it sit 4 to 6 hours. This is a hard reset. If it still doesn't turn on after the hard reset and the fuses and relays are fine, and you don't smell anything or see anything burnt. Then you'll need to call a TV repair man. They normal start around $150-$200 to fix the set. I hope this helps.
