The Poloroid PDM 8551 is notoriously prone to failure.

the current top of the heap of portable DVD players is a company called Venturer

The Venturer Portable HD home theater complete with wireless headphones sells for around 100$

The solution here is clear , ditch that ****** and hunt down new one.

LinAbro that magnetic field exposure could have dammaged the read eye of your DVD player.

since most laser lense float on a small magnetic field themselves.

My son put a magnet on the screen of his InnoTab2. Now it has a blank spot on the screen where the magnet was. Is there any way to repair this?

LCD displays are not affected by magnetic fields like CRT displays are. It sounds like the display might have been damaged by hitting it with the magnet and if this is the case the display will need to be replaced.

My polaroid dvd player keeps reporting "Bad Disc" on discs that play just fine in other DVD players. What can I do to fix this problem?

Is the movie a copy or an original, some copies do not work in all machines, some will accept a dvd-R but will not work with a dvd+R except if you have a brand new unit, they usually accept most discs, the older dvd players are not compatable with all blank dvd's...Steve

Polarioid dVD ''bad disc''

Did you clean the lense with the alcohol? You might try again, also wipe away the residue.

If no dice, you might try to contact Polaroid to see if you can get it replaced/exchanged under warranty.

Exceed rc - magnet was smoking

The smoke came from 1) you fried the Electronic Speed Control (ESC) unit 2) wires have shorted together, got hot, and burned together. You need to check the ESC and wires. Go to a radio control forum and ask. All the best Jeff - admin at rcgearing.com
