Compaq dc5000 sff Going to put in a DVD drive it is a LG super multi. And also have a 1 terabyte data hardrive by Seagate. Barracuda 7200.11. But don't have the drivers for either. I just got this computer back from work And it now only has drivers probably from restore disk.also has 30 gig hardrive in it . I want to have 2 hardrives in at once. Only one will have an OS. Windows XP. Thanks for the help

The hard disk must have crashed and only professional data recovery service providers can retrieve data from the hard disk. It will cost money and if the data is extremely important then only you should opt for data recovery.

Assuming the drive itself is still ok (it sounds like it would be), then yes, you can put the drive into another case or directly into the motherboard if you know how to do that.

I have a compaq netbook and also an LG gp08 lite super multi drive. when i play regular cd's, the sound works fine but when it comes to dvd's i get nothing. please please help me

I had the same problem - no audio on DVD's with my LG super multi drive. Someone here suggested downloading VideoLan VLC. I did and it solved the problem. But now I wonder how much of the LG stuff I downloaded when I installed the multi drive is still necessary. It was a lot of stuff!

How do to install slave drive Seagate Barracuda 7200.9. Does it has to be to the motherboard or to a card in my computer? How do I set the pins in what order?

if y0our going to slave one hardrive you need to set that hardrive jumper into slave format....check your hardisk if where pin should it e placed...usually there is a direction where to set the jumper for slaving the hardrive.

if its a secondary drive you can just put it in your computer and it will ask you to format it and you can go right ahead and do it if your installing an os it will format anyways and you shouldnt need any addtional drivers it should have the drivers and data already on it.

Check the cables connection first.

Check if the power supply fan and cpu fan are working
If not you need to replace your power supply.

No power on psu when Hardrive connected

Yes, I actually experienced it too about 2 months ago. I believe there is short in the board. I have a 200gb barracuda that failed (too soon) and I swapped the boards...just to see what would happen. I was able to recreate the other drives problem and vice-versa. I think if I could get my hands on a working barracuda(if there are any) I could recover my info. curse of the 7200.7's Good Luck, Tim
