Press the [ ] button while viewing a picture
Use Up/Down arrow to select [Delete Multi]/[Delete All], and then press [MENU/SET]
• Items can also be selected by turning the control dial.
• You can select [All Delete Except Favorite] in [Delete All] if there are pictures that have been set as [Favorite]
• A confirmation screen is displayed. Select [Yes] with the cursor buttons and then press [MENU/SET]
If you could take the battery out, then do it and leave the battery out for about 5 minutes. Then put it back on and see if that would soft reset the device.
If not, contact the manufacturer and have them upgraded the firmware of your device and that should resolve the problem.
There is no way you to mass deleted all pictures by just touching the screen. You must first display the pic you want to delete, then press the Trash Icon, then select yes on the screen, so accidental pic deleting is very hard to do.
I believe your pics are still on the camera, else the camera is defective.
I had the same problem with my digital cam/corder! An alternative solution to deleting pictures off the camera is, trickily enough, through your computer! This may be a bit of a hassle as you have preloaded your pics. What you will need to do is redownload your pics. You should be asked the option of deleting your pictures after download, and you click on the box.
