HC will flash when the hot and cold inlet hoses are reversed. Make sure your inlet hoses are connected correctly. That should correct the issue.

SOURCE: my washer shows a HC in the panel. what does that

HC means that the Hot and Cold water lines are reversed. Make sure that the supply hoses are connected correctly. If they are, then there is a problem with the sensor or control board.

What does "HC" mean?

The HC code indicates that the computer thinks the cold water inlet is getting hot water. The hot water inlet has the cold water coming in. Take off the inlet hoses and double check your water lines. If needed, swap the connections. While you have the hoses off, clear the filters and check for leaks. Check the flow rate and replace the hoses if the water flow is restricted. (Anti-burst hoses can reduce the flow when they detect a leak.)

If the hot water supply is correctly connected to the hot water inlet, then the electronic control board is getting faulty information. Unplug the washer for several minutes. If the code repeats, then the valve may be faulty. Alternative causes of the problem are the hoses, the wiring or the control board.

I hope this helps.

What does HC stand for?

According to the Whirlpool "Cabrio" washer installation and maintenance manual, (Cabrio is the Sears Oasis) the HC code will come up when.

"
“HC” (Cold and Hot hoses switched)
This code will appear at the end of the wash
cycle to indicate that the cold and hot water
inlet hoses are switched. If an error code
does not appear, but you are experiencing
poor washing performance, check to see
whether the inlet hoses are reversed. See
“Connect the Inlet Hoses.”

Error code HC

I recently started getting this message as well. I found out that I accidentally switched the hot and cold water lines into the washer. After switching so hot goes to hot and cold goes to cold the 'hc' message has stopped.
