2000 yamaha r6 when the bike gets hot the engine dies is ther a sensor that shuts it down around 205 ferinh then it starts when it sets and cools down
SOURCE: 2000 Yamaha R6 leaking gas - coming out of winter
this is a carb model yes? if you stored bike with fuel tap on then it could be your carb floats stuck. there is nowhere on the engine itself that gas would be going. is it dripping from the tank? fuel petcock? fuel pump (probably under the tank) ethanol in gas can completely screw up pumps.
if it's a carb problem shut off gas, remove aircleaner let fuel in carbs evaporate for a week. get some Berrymans B12 spray carb cleaner and get a bunch of it in there, it will break down the gum/varnish from the gas. also get Berrymans B12 fuel additive and put some in the tank. re-assemble and see how it goes.

could be fuel starvation. has it been stored for winter, Get Berrymans B12 fuel additive double dose mix in tank, run til hot and let stand overnight, next day should be all good, if you cross your fingers.

SOURCE: error code yamaha r6 2007 51 how can i erase it?
could be a safety shutdown by computer, only your dealer can erase the code....and then you'll find out whats wrong...and why the computer doesn't want you starting and damaging the bike.......Good Luck to you friend....Tim

Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. I checked and the TPS is in stock.

You could Google " motorcycle salvage yamaha " For about $100 they will sell the entire carb ( assuming one is available ). Before I did either option, I suggest you let the shop have a look at the bike. If the TPS is not the problem, you just wasted $200.

broken cable if your style bike has that style system, the cable that attaches to the axle shired off, i"ve had that stripped out also before and had to replace it.
