It is hard to answer your question. First you need to the required CFM to each room and most importantly is total CFM of the system. From there the sizes of duct run to each rooms must meet its required CFM. Zoning is next thing to solve.
Sounds like you have poor insulation in that room or the unit is undersized for the room it is cooling. It should not get hot quickly is there is good insulation and is big enough to do the job. Since you do not mention the age of your home/room or the size of the room, I can't be more specific. The number of turns may or may not be an issue. Depends of which of the lines are taking all the turns. Are the lines insulated? If they are overly long this could take longer to cool down but not much else if the system in full of Freon. If you do not feel cold air coming out of the unit at all and the compressor is running then check the air filter. If it is the littlest bit dirty and the unit is undersized for the room then any restriction would make it even more ineffective.
make sure the system switch is in the cool position, then press run program button and allow a couple of minutes for system to cycle on, if it doesn't come on press the button for lowering the set point, set it to 72 degrees and then press the hold temperature key.
This can only be a gas problem.
the split units goes on on and off if a shortage of gas is involved, the chances that you would here it wont be that big for the fans would make too much noise.
get a repair man for a re gas and all is well.
- Calibrate your electronic thermostat if it is accurate. If not then replacement is needed. - Check the location of your electronic thermostat, it may be installed in the room where its too cold.
