Could be a BAD battery. But jump it with cables from another vehicle and leave it charge from the other for 10 minutes. Start it and then pull the ground cable off your battery. If engine dies, you've a dead alternator. If it doesn't die, replace the battery.

Call Mercedes dealership service dept and give them your 17 digit VIN number. Vehicle Identification Number. They can look up recall data for you.


VIN will be on the 'B' pillar just down from the drivers door latch receiver. Stuck on label with month/year date and model type info'.

Steering on these is quiet robust so first check the fluid level in the power steering reservoir.

Mercedes can tell you what fluid you need too....most MB vehicles used ATF but check.

You can try to charge it up again for about 30 minutes and try a reset, here's how:

For soft reset type *#7780#

For hard reset type *#7370#

and if it ask passcode enter the passcode as 12345 as default.

Note: Please backup all your dataif you performing hard reset because hard reset deletes all data on your phone including contacts music and pictures.

have you check the alternator possible problem. if not that you have a draw on the battery with the key off. you need an amp meter one that will clip around the positive cable from the battery this will tell you if your vehicle has a parasitic draw with the key off. most parts stores have loaner tools you can use. hope this helps some.

A trip to a Mercedes dealer with your log book and proof of i.d and provided the stereo is the origional factory fit then they should be able to track down the code and instal it for a minimal fee.I needed a new key for my c36 amg,gave them the info from the log book and an origional pre programed key arrived 4 days later from germany.
