When you get error 12 in your unit try to uninstall the software of your scanner and reinstall it again. Also check your cables for loose contacts.This will eliminate the problem. Thank you!

The scanner has only 1 motor and when initializing moves the lamp to the end, where there is a photocell to detect home position. Possibly bad sensor or dirt on tracks which interferes with the movement. Clean the rails with alcohol may correct the problem.

if you open that plate /scanner mechanism and if you drill that plastic sheet and try some manufactureed alluminium or metal projection and place it in the hole drilled by you and put washer and screew so that that supports ;the scanner mechanism and your scanner /printer works . the scanner mechanism may costs you around 3,000-00 rupees.
