Assuming that you are talking about internal hdd storage mp3 player all you have to do is see if the hard disk is removable and connect it to a laptop with the usb cable ...or if it have a usb cable connect it to a computer and the hard disk will appear in the my computer area (folder ) by the device name ..or like a removable storage device ..(it will be better if it came with a driver for it ...a disk that will manage it )
but in most cases this is not needed ...eiter you connect it with the usb cable to a computer ..and in the folder I just describe you will find the music you mentioned...and just click on it ..and delete ..After that just drag the folders or copy and paste the music in the removable storage device in the my computer folder...
another way is look in the menu and choose the folders than on options delete them ..after that add the music by importing from a usb flash drive (stick ) or any other storage supported..
But the most simple way is if the hdd is removable ..and to place it into a computer ,,and add the stuff and remove the other you do not need..
if you provide me the full name and serial I will look for a manual but from what you described all I found is this one ..and it has no manual...
http://www.techfresh.net/the-bose-new-car-stereo-system/
But from what they say ..it supports even transfer from an ipod or a usb stick ..so it may be conected to a coputer also ...by a usb cable ..
you can also copy the music from the disk by selecting the folders and copy to hdd..
By the way ..if nothing works it has bluetooth too ..so you can pair with a laptop and transfer the songs but it will be a little slower compare to the cable connection or transfering with a storage usb stick ..
Unit fixed in dash behind fascia, not accessible. No visible connection for usb jack-yes I had looked in glove box. Have found holding the menu key produces a list of options and am working through trying to figure them out. Any further suggestions appreciated.
Im not sure the exact model but if it has a hdd storage it has a usb connection or even a card one too ...try to see if they are not hidden ...behind the front face ...for some models teh face of the player flips forward and expose things like connections and such ...pay attention for symbols....the usb one is an universal symbol like a trident ...it has to have cause there will be no point for a hdd storage without it ..
By the way ...try to see if you locate the exact model written somewhere ...I mean the model not the serial number ...and this way I know exact which one is ...and try to find a user guide and we clear the stuff right the way ..if you have a hard time locate it ..try on Bose official site ...
Model No. L207 66 DV0
Ref. No. CQ-BM8501A This is my one in our 2006 Mazda MPV. I have the same music issue as well :(
The HDD connection is behind the screen, press the rh top "open" button THEN press the screen where you see the CD picture (Center) and you open the face and see a CD slot and to the left a little door to get to the HDD connection via some uncommon digital camera cabel?!
