Change the USB port to another.
If you have things in the other port, then move one of those to the port the FA is plugged into now.
This will force Windows to reinstall it.

Connect usb port

Check all computer connections and cords. Is the powerstrip for surge protector light indicator bar (usually inside the off/on switch itself) on?
All it takes is a pet to walk over it or a foot to bump a cord and break the power connection. Mine do it all the time. Check the power on/off button on the printer to see if it accidently got powered down.

My nephew was playing with my phone and accidently locked it and i dont know the password

You can still recover your device by restoring it while in DFU mode. Here's what you need to do:
  1. Plug/connect your device to a computer (PC or Mac)
  2. Turn it OFF
  3. Press and hold the POWER and HOME buttons together for EXACTLY 10seconds
  4. Release the POWER button but keep holding the HOME button until the computer beeps indicating that a USB device is recognized.
  5. Open iTunes and restore your device.
WARNING!: Restoring will delete all data on your device.

If you don't get it at first, try holding the buttons for lesser time or see the other procedures and some screenshots on my tip (link below):

The WDXU800BBRNN hard drive clicks about 15 seconds when plugged into a computer and is not recognized by the computer. This is a Western Digital 80 GB external hard drive.

Sounds like either the drive was accidently dropped while running and is damaged, has damaged circuitry, the hard drive has otherwise crashed, case scenario, is that you have it plugged into a USB port that it doesn't 'like'. Try unplugging and plugging into another USB port on the computer and see if your problem goes away.
Best of luck! Hope this helps!

if the bandwith on your computer is insufficient it will not recognize the connection. Try using a different USB port and you may find it works.

I kicked my HD by accident, now my laptop does not recognize the Western Digital 1TB My Book external HD. I tried to plug it in from different USB ports, tried with my desktop, and my parents' desktop but...

Hello there,

There might be a disconnected wire inside your My Book, preventing it to be detected by your computer. Or maybe a broken part that needs to be resoldered. But dont worry, you harddrive is still secure.

What you need to do is to take off the hard disk inside and place it in another USB hard disk enclosure. How to do that, here is a video that could guide you.

Or if you dont have an enclosure you can place that inside another computer for it to detect it as data drive.

If you have further questions, please let me know.
