Akai LCD TV wont turn on

Tv is always left in standby mode and never really completely off. Today when i got home from work, the standby light just flashed red instead of a solid red. When I try to hit the on button, it silently clicks a few times, but doesnt turn on. Is it dead? or is this a familiar problem?

Hello davidshu,

The issue seems to be a power supply problem. The television has a switching power supply. This might be the problem. I would suggest getting it repaired at a television repair shop due to the possible complexity of the work that needs to be done.

You need to bring it to a TV technician. There is a relay inside the TV which can be blocked by any few errors that may occur in your TV, for protection. Only a tech may discover the problem.

AKAI 32" LCD HDTV WILL NOT TURN ON

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to [email protected]

AKAI LCT3285TA seems to be stuck in "Standby"

Greetings,

We own a small TV repair shop in Ohio and have ran into similar problems with this TV.

To fix this problem we replaced 3 caps near and in the powersuppy of the TV.

This TV is very sensitive to electrical problems ( more then most if that's possible) so check the caps near the PSU.

Over all this TV is a fairly decent product.
