There is no need to top of the water tank. When the unit is running it collects condensation and fills the tank with water. When the tank is FULL the Full indicator will illuminate and the unit will shut OFF. You will ten need to drain the water from the rear drain hole.
To further assist you, in case you have misplaced your Owners Manual. I have included a link to it that you can download & print for future reference.
Unless, AMCOR has recently made a dramatic change to your model, you don't add water to the unit. Your model acts as an air conditioner and a dehumidifier, all at the same time. It evaporates the water/humidity in the room's air and exhaust it out the vent hose. There is a drain pan, that collects any un-evaporated water, but that only needs to be drained if it's full. Which rarely occurs, unless the humidity is extremely high for a long periods of time..
Take a section of your old one and head over to any home center or hardware store and you'll find a a wide selection of flexible duct work that will meet your needs, inexpensively. There's really nothing special about the flexible duct/exhaust hose, that came with the unit.
Hope this helped you . Please let me know. Thanks.

looking at the standalone a/c the vet has in their office where I live, I noticed what they are using, its a dishwasher drain hose and you can get them at any hardware store, you will need a hose clamp for that also, the hardware store employee should be able to get the right clamp for you. Im in the united states but Im pretty sure dishwasher drain hoses are universal.
