A year or so ago, I bought a HPdeskjet 5650 from a localcircuit city store. It was the last printer in stock, with no operators manuel or box for the printer. I have it hooked up with a MSN-2media player. The printer works OK but there are several things that it does, that I don't know how to do without a user manuel. I wonder if you can put the users guide on an e-mail and send it to me or give me the e-mail address and I can go on line to print it off? I do not go on line much or do I have a lot of prining. I realize at my age, I am not computer savy, or I would go to a pc or laptop. Can you help me. My e-mail address is [email protected].

I don't like saying call the manufacturer, but in this case.... HP has an "out of the box" warranty when it comes to toners. If you bought the toner 6 years ago, but took it out of the box 2 weeks ago, your warranty started 2 weeks ago. Call 1-800-HP-Invent and they will of course want to troubleshoot with you, but it won't cost anything if you explain that you just installed the toner, it's new, and you are having this issue. They should treat it as "accessory under warranty". They'll either stumble upon what the defect in their cartridge was, or in all likelyhood they will simply replace it.
First find the installation disk that came with your printer in the box. Install the software by placing the disk in your CDROM of your computer and then follow the instructions on the screen. when the software has finished installing, connect your printer to the computer with your USB cord and the computer will automatically do the rest.
Some operating systems already have the driver for your printer and the software is not necessary. To check and see if your computers operating system already has the necessary drivers, just connect your printer via your usb cord. Your computer will recognize the printer once the cord is connected and you will see a pop up message around the right hand corner of the monitor screen that says "new equipment detected" and the computer will do the rest.
its hard to diagnose power issues. try another outlet and see if it works. If you truely bought it 2 days ago, ANY store will allow you to exchange for another one whether you have a receipt or not. The only reason I know that, is because I have worked retail many years in the past and have never heard of place not letting you exchange for the same item. Unless, you bought it a garage sale or something similar.
IF your printer is 2 months old then if not working you can contact Lexmark and get your printer replaced as its under warranty for free by the company ...
