There are different types of color settings and systems - NTSC, PAL and SECAM. Are you sure the correct one is selected ? If yes then the problem is in the decoder and must be replaced since the chip cannot be fixed. This is a job for a pro.

Screen is white on black want white on black

https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-invert-colors-on-your-computer-screen-to-white-on-black

It is unclear if you are experiencing a hardware problem or have inadvertently changed a screen setting. If a hardware problem, it would be a good idea to repost and to identify the brand, model, and operating system if such applies.

My LTV-32w6 westinghouse powers on & has sound but displays black screen with very faint colored vertical lines. It shows like this for about 1min before it goes into standby mode & the blue power...

Depends on what is causing it...

Vertical bands of faint black are generally caused by filtering capacitors and can be found in the power supply or the 5 volt supply or even the Video processing circuit...it is not an easy task to identify the source of Video hum bars.....we also call them Jailbars.

Another problem seen is faint black lines caused by the TV set being in 4:3 mode all the time....right at the edge of where the picture ends and the black pillars begin, we see a faint black line that never goes away and is normally seen with a full screen....

That is actually image retention, but it's caused by the crystals that create the picture becoming polarized or ionized over a very long period of time....and it's not easy to DE-Polarize them !

But there are some theories out on how to do that....
Certain people suggest running the TV overnight with an ALL-WHITE picture and some suggest an ALL BLACK PICTURE...and some suggest alternating between both !!

Now, a black picture is easy to make, you just deactivate the Video Mute (blue screen) and set it to an unused Video INPUT overnight....

About the only way to make a white screen is to use the USB port for pictures and take a very bright outdoor shot of a piece of white paper that hopefully is out of focus too....That would create an all-white picture that you can plug into your TV set overnight....

Now if you decide to try this, deactivate any displays on your TV set...all you do is press the display button until the Video and/or USB input numbers disappear....

Next day , set it back to normal TV and see if it's gone or if it's REDUCED....try it again if needed, or try the exact opposite if you see NO RESULTS....

LCD projector not displaying color only black and white

Did you ever see color on this projector?
It could be the composite input cant detect the "color burst" 3.58 mhz signal for chroma.

Have you tried a different input?
That could help you track down what the problem may be.

RCA TV lost Color

It sounds like your grandson found the "monochrome" setting in the menu on your remote. It may be in the "picture settings", "set-up" or "advanced" setting.

DVD plugged into red, white and green(Yellow) TV imputs, results

Yeah no color coz its black and white. Color coding commonly yellow wire for video, red and white wire for audio. It should also be from DVD to TV, video out and audio out going to video in and audio in. And switch the TV to play video and the audio inputted. Maybe TV/Video Switch or button.

Negative screen image

Look in System Preferences for Universal Access, there is a Display option which says Black on White(the normal setting) and White on Black (the setting that has been enabled).

There is a keyboard short cut to change the setting, it involves pressing four keys - Apple, Option, ^ and 8.

Same as other poster: Player only plays black and white

It sounds like the circuitry which actuates the color drives for the screen are not working, this would ba analogous to adjusting for a B&W picture on a color TV you have color but the screen shows black and white. I would get a schematic for this set and measure the voltages on the color processor that connects to the screen since you know that the external jack has color. If possible I can help you troubleshoot this, if you need me to help out.

Rca p52771at - dark picture

Sounds like a bad screen asy, part number 204809,must use the generic,or you could have weak tubes,if so you may just need to turn up the screen drives, this part is located in the right top of the set with the back removed,if no cracks are present adj. the three marked screen's,turn the color all the way down in your menu and adj. for a black and white picture.
