The bits are held by a spring snap ring that sometimes takes a lot of force to release.

Spray a little bit of CRC226 into the bit/chuck interface and grab the bit with a set of visegrips and PULL !!!

The CRC226 is available in a blue spray can at Home Depot in the electrical dept and fights rust. A can is about $2.70... make sure to get the 226 as there are other CRC products there.

How do I replace the bit? On Dewalt screw gun

You pull it straight out - just a small clip that holds the bit & the bit holder in place. If it has been in a while you may have to grab pliers to pull it out.

I bought a DeWALT adjustable depth screw setter. How do I remove the driver, the Phillips bit tip itself, and replace it with another size bit?

usually you have to grip it with a pair of vise grips and PULL, sometimes the magnetic driver will come out also but all you need to do it push it back in till it clicks.

What's wrong with my screw gun when the bit keeps falling out when in use?

The bit holder resides in the clutch housing which has a collar with a ball bearing that the notch in the bit holder snaps into. It would seem that the ball bearing has slipped out of the cooler on the clutch housing, therefore nothing is locking it into placed. If you need a diagram, let me know.

Replacing the driver tip on Dewalt Dry Wall Screw Gun

yes, when you look at the front portion of the gun, the tip nozzle thing is actually two separate external parts. The foremost aluminum nozzle and the twisty black plastic thing behind it will pull straight off the piece that is reverse threaded onto the gear box.

Was given a drywall screw gun to use, but I need to change the bit to fit smaller star drywall screws. How do I remove and replace this screw bit?

I use a DeWalt and the bit should just pull off like you would a cordless drill/driver. You might need a little persuasion (vice grips or pliers) because of the constant torque placed on it.

Adjusting the depth of a dewalt dry wall

you should just have to turn the collar, it is marked with which way to turn for deeper setting of the screws. You can go to with your model number and download a copy of the owners manual for more specific information.
