Display starts out OK, but after a few minutes it begins to flicker in the upper corners, and the turns on and off a few times before staying black?! Everything else seems to function OK.... BIOS issue??? "Cable and connection appear to be fine."Can it be corrected, or is it time to junk the W4685 and move up?

Please check the monitor or LCD that you have. because the computer will not flicker if there is a problem on the display. isolate it. use other monitor or LCD then check if it flickers again.

What could cause my VIDEO CARD to fail?

This could be a simple failure of your video card. However, I had this happen and found out it was a heat sink that had come loose from my motherboard. (Heat sinks are the aluminum blocks, with fins, on top of CPUs on your motherboard, or on advanced graphic cards.)

PANDIGITAL Digital Photo Frame works perfectly except the SCREEN Flickers Black after a few moments

Annemarie, I had a similar problem with an off-brand photo frame from Wal-Mart last year, although in my case the frame would shut down entirely after it had flickered a few times. In my case, I was able to remove the back of the frame's case by removing 4 screws (two were hidden underneath model number stickers) and inspecting the device's innards... what I found was that, as you surmised, there was a loose connection from the female end of the DC-in power supply. The ground connection to the device's circuit board had been poorly soldered, leaving the connection itself loose and a small piece of solder on top of the board and very near the positive connection.
While not being the best solderer in the world, with the aid of a magnifying glass, a solder removal tool, and a ColdHeat soldering wand, I was able to heat the offending piece of solder and remove it from the circuit board and then, as I was personally uncertain of my ability to re-solder the connection without melting the board, I simply held the connection in place and applied a dab of hot glue to keep it there. After the glue cooled, I reassembled the case and the frame worked for almost another year before something else finally burned out and it was left cold and dark.
Hope this helps, good luck!

How do i program a black & decker model cm1050w to start coffee breding at a certain time?

I have one. It's easy. Push the program button. The little green light in the lower left corner will flash. The only tricky part is that you only have about 3 seconds to begin setting your time. After that the light stops flashing and you will be changing the regular time. While you are pushing the Hour or Minute buttons you have all the time you need to set your brew time, but once you stop you're back to the 3 second timer. Remember, if the light in the upper left side is on, the time is PM. To turn the timer on, push the Auto button and the little light in the lower left will come on and stay on. To turn it off, just push the Auto button again. Another caution, there is no "safety" for the Hour and Minute buttons. If you push either of those buttons while the lower left light is flashing you are changing the brew start time. If it is not flashing you are changing the real time. In other words, if you push either of those buttons at any time, you are always changing something. Happy brewing.

Disconnect the Z sustain board ribbon cables that go to the display and clean them with a small amount of acetone, ( nail polish remover ). ONLY THE COPPER TIPS ON THE RIBBON.....NOT THE RIBBON. Put those back in and do the same with the Y.

Screen goes black when plugged in

The high pitch sound is most likely a faulty inverter. Most defective screen are caused by a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp or simply the video cable needs reseating. After reseating the video cable and the problem is still there then :- To determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow the instructions. Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case. The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills. Check out www.lcdparts.net for parts, repair service and DIY info.
