Controller Sticking Out Playstation 3 control buttons keep sticking. How can we clean them without damaging the controller?

Your analog stick is dirty, where it sits on the motor peg and it's causing your stick to be read as moving instead of standing. clean controller.

Best advice that can be given, take it to a video game store or other related repairman. If you're not sure on the interior of ps3 controllers, you could wreck it even more trying to fix it, even off a tutorial. From what you said, however, it might just be cheaper to buy a new controller alltogether.

You plug in the usb cable to charge the controller and connect it to the ps3 for the first time. You use the left analog stick to move around the dashboard when the ps3 is turned on and the 'X' button to change settings, go to the online browser, playstation store, or start a game. You can back out by pressing 'O' or holding the 'PS' button, which allows you to change a controller number (say controller #1 to #2 with two controllers), turn off the system or turn off the controller. Press (not hold) the controller to look around the dashboard while in a game and select say "Quit Game', or go into settings and change something around to your liking. Every game also comes with the controls and for what the buttons are. (Stick on left is the, "Left Analog Stick," right is "Right Analog Stick," from right to left starting at the green triangle shaped button is the, "Triangle," "Circle," "X," and "Square," buttons. The four buttons on the left going in all directions is the D-pad, and the triggers on the back going from the top left to bottom left and top right to bottom right are, "L1," "L2," "R1," "R2").

it\'s a mad katz controller i had about 15 of these growing up for my game systems; not only did they break easy but 2 of them came non working themself. buy a cheap 360 controller online and scrap mad katz :)

Turn off the controller and gently press each button to it's limit, including a rotation of the thumb sticks. This should help loosen up all the contacts and stop any sticking that's going on. It's the game-controller version of limbering up before a work out. Then turn your controller back on and reconnect.

If this doesn't fix the problem, turn off the entire system, including all controllers, and then turn them all back on. This should reset any "commands" your system is performing from the controller.

If neither of these options work, then your controller may have a real malfunction, and I would suggest having a local professional take a look at it for you. You may end up having to replace it.

The buttons are sticking inside the controller. The only thing that will fix this problem is a good cleaning with isotopic alcohol and a Q-tip.

hmmm try moving it about in circles, if this dont wory you could take the control apart and clean the bearing of it this will work fine :)

Hey there I have used a "SMALL" amount of baby powder, its non conductive so you dont have to worry about static...just rub a bit around the edges of the buttons depressing them as you go. Work it in and blow off the excess. Try that its a quick fix i have used in the past. anymore problems with it answer back. Hope it works for ya

Try a little rubbing alchahol on a Q-tip. do not drip in to controller, just rub around the button and press the button a few times. might have to do it a few times, let it dry before doing it again. It will break down what ever is sticky.

most probably the controller's carbon button inside the controller is already worn out and is sticking on the controller's printed circuit board (PCB) there are some replacement carbon button that can be bought for a cheap price

or

if you are using an analog controller, check if the analog stick is loose in feeling, this might affect the controls as well because good working analog sticks are a little stiff when pushed
