After replacing toner cartridge in a HL 2070N printer, it doesn't print. I've done all of the reset tricks already (factory default, and the other one posted to this forum) but that does not fix the problem. After initially powering up the printer, I get a steady Ready light, nothing else is lit up. I press GO 3 times to print a test/status page and the Ready light blinks like it is trying to print, but the paper drive motor does not start. There is paper in the printer.
It is a new toner cartridge (TM350). I did not refill the old cartridge. The little white lever on the right side is in the 10 o'clock position, and is pushing the switch in the printer, indicating there is toner in the cartridge. It is a new toner cartridge (TM350). Have you tried replacing the toner cartridge with a new one?
many printers when empty will only allow you to print one page at a time.Check your handbook.
I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge? Please consider the following: If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges. They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead. If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges Don
Sounds like you refilled or purchased a refilled cartridge and the toner reset flag wasn't reset in the process. Here's a link to the remanufacturing instructions for the cartridge. Page 4 addresses how to reset the flag on the side of the cartridge to make it reset your machine.
The HL-2070N gets stuck in a toner end-of-life error condition. Perform the following to clear :
With paper loaded, new toner in,
Open front door
Turn off printer
While holding down the GO button, turn printer back on
When all four LEDs light up release GO button. All LEDs will turn off
Press the GO button 2 times. The 3 LEDs (toner, drum, paper) will light up solid
Press the GO button 5 times
Paper light will be blinking
At this point the toner end-of-life condition has been reset. Close front door.
BTW, I got this from Brother Support. Also, just a reminder, timing is important here so don't pause between button presses.
