I just replaced the belt and cog belt on my cleaner and as soon as I put everything back together again and started it up, the brushes would not spin, the belt melted and the metal cog on the end of the pump assembly melted out again. I can't for the life of me figure out why it's just burned out a second pump and belt in two days. Anyone have any ideas?
Is the brush roll turning freely? Is there something binding the pump pulley or belt casuing it to not turn? Was the replacement pump a new one? If you replace these parts again, after doing so, try turning the pump pulley by hand to see if it will turn the brush roll easlly, if it doesn't then there is a problem.
