Intermittents are hard to find the cause of... but let's give it a shot...
Things to try or verify:
1, Verify power connector is fully seated and supply is correct one and is producing the desired voltage..
2. Verify that the amp this connects to is powered by the same wall receptacle. (this is a ground loop noise issue) Also don't let mic's or other electrical equipment touch the drum pad mounting system.
3. Verify you are not inadvertently generating static discharges. If you find yourself drawing sparks when you touch things this is an indication of static. if this is a problem, raise humidity to 40%.
4. If unit is subject to heat, try cooling with a fan to see if it helps the situation.
5. Verify the unit is NOT being vibrated.
6. IF THE UNIT is quite old, verify an internal backup battery is not depleted... they usually are about 3 volts when OK.
